Probably among the rarest of any production frame from the late 80's is this Fisher CR-7 frame...this was built for Fisher using the very same design that Richard Cunningham (yes, of MBA fame) used on his legendary Mantis XCR frames. The idea is that the Tange prestige chromoly rear triangle is bonded and mechanically joined to the aluminum front triangle in order to cancel out the frequencies of the 2 metals and effectively create a frame with the pedalling efficiency and stiffness of an aluminum frame with all the shock damping and comfort associated with a classic steel frame!
back in the day, when they were new, this was even hard to find, so imagine when the next one of these you'll see!! The frame rides awesome, and includes the proprietary Fisher sealed cartridge bearing bottom bracket. The bearings are brand new, so it'll roll for another 15 years before needinag kind of service again. the included 31.8mm Thomson seatpost is the best you'll ever find, the Suntour XC 1 inch headset is one ride old, and the Fisher Rhino stem with Cable pulley ties it all together. All you need is a standard 6 or 7 speed drivetrain, a 1 3/8 inch bottom pull front derailleur, rear U-brake or rollercam and a front canti and you're set!
If you want a riding vintage mountain bike, this is the one for you! This is considered Fisher's best riding frame ever by most Bike journailists from the 80's and 90's.
Seat tube is 20-inch center to top, and the top tube is 22.5 inches. rear dropout spacing is 130mm. Front fork is Tange Prestige Chromoly, and the bike is NOT suspension corrected.
в общем, тут фишка в том, что передний треугольник алю, а задний хро-мо. очень редкая рама и в свое время (конец 80-ых) считалась лучшей фишеровской рамой по своим ездовым характеристикам.
